A very good history of the Astors This is a very good book that gives you a good look into the life of the Astors beginning with John Jacob Astor. You meet the family through the ages and all of the influential people they have met and worked with over the years.

The book ends in, or about, Then, one of the Astors and his family relocated to Great Britain. Improbably, the wife was elected The Astors book Parliament and served many years in that context (even infuriating leaders such as Winston Churchill).

I really didn't know who the Astors where when I started reading, I did love the beginning of the book about John Jacob coming to America and how hard he worked trading furs. I am sure that was not an easy life and he had to be really smart and determined to make something of  › Books › Biographies & Memoirs › Leaders & Notable People.
